Bank FAQ

As a first step, please visit https://twig.ae/banks to make sure that your bank is supported. If it is, we might be experiencing one of the following issues and we encourage you to trying again later:

  • We are connected to your bank but are not receiving a response from them at the moment.
  • Your bank might be undergoing maintenance.
  • Our systems might be undergoing maintenance and will resume full operation as soon as possible.

Should the issue persist, please email us at [email protected] or report the bug by taking a screenshot on the app.

During the Beta phase, we are limiting bank connections to one per user. We are aiming to allow you to connect all your bank accounts. We’ll let you know when that changes.

Banks require that we refresh our connection with them periodically. This is a standard procedure that is triggered by your bank to authenticate you, and keep you safe.

TWIG reads transactions from all your accounts to give you a consolidated view of your budgets. For deposits and withdrawals, TWIG uses a main account that you assign. This account should be a current account, and it’s advisable that you use the account that you receive your salary on. You can change your primary account by going to ‘Settings’, tapping on your account, then tapping ‘Edit’.

To unlink your bank account, go to ‘Settings’, tap on ‘Bank Details’, then on the ‘Edit’ button. You will then be able to select the account, and unlink it.

To link your bank account, tap the ‘Connect my Bank Account’ on the home page, and follow the instructions. You can also go to ’Settings’, tap on ‘Bank Details’ then ‘Connect my Bank Account’ and follow the same steps.

You can check the list of supported banks at https://twig.ae/banks. We are looking to extend our support as we go, so we encourage you to keep checking the page for updates.

Connecting your bank account allows you to automate your budgets, savings and goals. This connection uses bank-level security, and does not allow us to initiate any transactions without your confirmation. TWIG is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), and follows strict security protocols to ensure that your data and any transactions you conduct on TWIG are secure, and private.
